NHDC Ltd. (A Joint Venture of NHPC Ltd. & Govt. of M.P.) has synchronized full capacity of its 88 MW (Unit ‘D’) Floating Solar Photo Voltaic (FSPV) Power Project in Omkareshwar reservoir on 10.10.2024. This FSPV is a part of world's largest Floating Solar Park of 600 MW being developed by RUMSL in the reservoir of NHDC Omkareshwar Power Station (520 MW) on Narmada River. The Capital Cost of the Project is Rs. 589.16 Cr. This Solar Power Plant will generate 204 MU starting from the first year of its operation. The purchase of whole energy has been tied up with MPPMCL @ Rs. 3.22 per unit.
The spread of this FSPV Project is 207 Hectare over Omkareshwar reservoir having installed total 213460 Nos. of bi-facial solar panels of capacity 590 Wp each arranged in 24 Nos. of arrays. All the Inverters and solar modules are class 1 type i.e. at least 50% of total cost is domestic component. All the AC and DC cables are lying on floater. 2 Nos. 33 KV Double Circuit line each of 4.5 KM of length are installed for the power evacuation to Saktapur Sub station and then through 220 KV to Chhegaon sub-station. This benefit of this FSPV is to produce Green Energy, reduced water evaporation from the reservoir and approx. no land is `required for this Project. This FSPV project has been executed through EPC contract awarded to M/s TPSSL.
